is arsenal a contender for the title this season? i would love to say YES. but the ground situation tells something else. the times have changed but AW has not changed. agreed, that there is a crisis of funds which binds him in the transfer window. but what about now. he has 25m pounds at his disposal. he got rid of a player who had just money at his heart. so getting 25m pounds for a player of that kind is nothing more than a miracle. but that was the easy part for AW. the tough part comes now and that is to put that money back in the market to buy a quality defensive midfielder and an out and out striker to replace adebayor.
this is a good time to buy strikers. klaas jun huntelaar is available for sale and so is obafemi martins. klass jun hutelaar is value for money and martins is available at a cut price as newcastle has been relegated. both will be a good buy for arsenal with huntellar being better as he is the one who can go on to score 30 goals a season regularly. even if arsenal spend 15m pounds on him, they still have 10m ponds left to get a quality defensive midfielder. if they go for martins they ll have to pay around 7m pounds for a someone who is surely worth around 12-13m pounds. and then he will have around 18m pounds to get a quality defensive midfielder and put the rest in bank.
but if something like this does not happen, then this season might be the one when they end up outside the top 4 as man city is catching up quiet fast. and this way they will lose another 25m pounds that they get from champions league. so, if AW is listening please buy martins if huntelaar is beyond budget and get some steel in the mid field. and it wont just be a footballing mistake but an economics mistake as well by LE PROF.
